September 27, 2012 Meeting with President Komorowski in New York City
Representing the Polish American Chamber of Commerce Pacific Northwest, Teresa Indelak-Davis and Janusz Wisniewski were honored to participate in the meeting on September 27, 2012 with Mr. Bronislaw Komorowski, President of the Republic of Poland, and business leaders active in Polish and US markets. Held at the Consulate General of Poland in New York City, the event was an excellent opportunity to highlight stronger US-Poland economic relations.
Speaking to representatives of the Polish-American Chambers of Commerce, Polish companies active in the U.S. market and U.S. investors, as well as Polish students participating in internships with US companies, the President stated that free economy can also become the foundation of ”building a good relationship between people, between nations and between states”. “There is a new phenomenon, which until recently seemed unrealistic, that the Polish capital begins to invest more and more money abroad”, President Komorowski noted.
Throughout the presentations, the President was made aware of current business initiatives spearheaded by the Polish-American chambers and business councils in the U.S. to strengthen economic ties with Poland. Attention was also drawn to two business events in the first half of the year, which gave a new impetus to cooperation for Polish American associations and businesses. They were the economic workshop in Chicago on “Enhancing Poland-US Collaboration” in May 2012, culminating with a joint declaration and the Polish-American Economic Summit, which took place in June in Warsaw.
